1: Chirping of crickets and hum of overhead powerlines at Ovar train station, Portugal.

2: Composition made of 120 ten-second recordings of orthoptera insects (crickets, bush crickets and grasshoppers) played in various speeds, considering that the sound of many orthoptera species changes with temperature (the song is usually getting faster with increasing temperature).

3: Recording of barley monoculture near Prague (with distant sound of birds removed).

4: Atmospheric piece based on computer model of bee sound.




Field recordings were recorded in Ovar, Portugal in May 2023 (track 1), Prague, July 2022 (track 2 & 3), June and July 2023 (track 2) and Jindřichův Hradec, Czech Republic, July 2022 (track 2). Bee sound model is based on an example from Andy Farnell's book Designing Sound.
